I've been back nearly a month and other than shed loads of revision, I just don't feel like I've accomplished anything with my holiday. Because of stuff that happened in the last week of uni I spent the first couple of weeks wishing I was back in Birmingham getting on with my life. (Being in Ipswich is like pressing the pause button) And yet during this last week, when I finally really feel settled back home and relaxed; now it's nearly time to go back. Going back means uncertainty, a prospect that apparently, in general, the human race doesn't like. Uncertainty over relationships with a certain friend that was left somewhat precarious, uncertainty over exams, and uncertainty over housing. I'm sure(ish) that they'll all be ok, but still sometimes I wish I knew what life had in store, but then I guess it wouldn't be as much fun would it?

So unlike the slacker that is Snivelly I've been in Birmingham for 2 weeks, and I've fallen in love with the place already. (although maybe not the course. anatomy is evil) Unfortunately I don't think my bank balance would agree, the shopping up here is amazing, as is the nightlife, in fact the only thing that isn't amazing is the weather, it's rained everyday apart from the day I moved in on, what's going on there.
This morning, I realised I had only 1 pair of socks left and so I braved the launderette, amazingly none of my clothes have acquired a new colour, I didn't flood the room or set the tumble drier on fire and best of all I haven't even poisoned myself yet...a rather successful start to uni life I feel..............................except for the fresher's flu. :-(
P.S. please someone leave a comment on this, so I know people can see it, can't really remember how to use this thing. ta.xxxxxxxxx
Went up to London last Friday for a rendez-vous with a couple of non-school friends and Lee. Much excitement, including my first EVER trip to Hamleys, Yes, I was a deprieved child. *ahhhhh* In the evening went to Vertigo 42, if you haven't heard of this champagne bar click below cos you are equally deprieved, although most likely better in pocket than I am after the cheapest bottle worked out as £10 a glass. Most amazing views over London, so romantic...
Kinda regretted the wine when I had to be at work at 7:30am after catching the last train home. Just for general amusement dialogue at work that day:
Hostess: 'Morning. *pause* Have you got a boyfriend'
Me: 'Erm, yes, why?'
Hostess: 'You should buy him a sandwich'
Me: 'Wtf, why?'
Hostess: 'So he doesn't have to eat your neck...'
Has anyone else gotten so drunk they didn't realise they had the hugest hickey on their neck?
And finally to finish with the old brag and leave: GUESS WHO GOT INTO BIRMINGHAM MED SCHOOL. *insert celebration here*
Interview at Brimingham med school on Friday 2nd November...Shit scared :s
After my somewhat dramatic last blog I thought I should drop by again to say it's actually rather good.
Monday, was mainly filled with paperwork and learning how to make beds, why they can't use fitted sheets I will never understand. From then on it's got steadily better as I've made friends and we're learning more clinical type work. Tomorrow is the joyful moving and handling practical course, so no doubt I'll come home with multiple bruises where I've been dropped, but probably not as many as the people I practice on will have!!!
On the wards in a week and a bit, rather excited. Went up to my ward for 1st time this afternoon to say hello and they're really friendly with a couple of fit student nurses, I'm gonna be gutted if they're gay. I'm working 40hours that first week when I'm meant to be on 27.5...hmmm, think someone cocked up somewhere.
Today was my first day at work, fairly sure I hate it, but I shall reserve absolute judgement until tomorrow.
Well apparently its been 5 weeks since I last blogged, and due to my repeated absences from sociaI gatherings,I thought I should let you all know that I'm still alive and haven't disappeared off the face of the planet!
Updates on the life of Sarah include:
1. A week in Italy
2. Too many visits to the Royal George, those of you who know which pub I mean will no doubt be growning now, and other fine locations in Ipswich
3. Gaining the NRASTC (National Rescue Test for Swimming Teachers and Coaches)
4. Depression that everyone is disappearing off and that I'm still stuck with the Steerage
FINALLY and MOST importantly, at this moment I am overwhelmed with excitement as a certain film is coming out on the disney channel next Friday (21st)...yes it could only be...............HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2
Main points since I last blogged...
- Leipzig, Germany.
The location of this year's wind band tour. Despite the slightly disappointing lack of sunshine; the swishy 4* hotel and restuarants, and no breakdowns at all made for a fantastic tour. May add to this entry later to give you details, if I remember.

The 2nd twice annual facepack party
Tessa does fish face (Yoodling face)
Last night :-(
- Thorpe Park
So to celebrate Matt's 19th birthday, He, Lee and myself jumped in the car on Friday night and passed the 2 hour drive to Egham and Royal Holloway with a good old disney singalong, stopping on route to pick up another trouper, Nick. By the time we reached Egg and Ham we were firmly established as a family, Matt (Daddy) was the driver, Nick (Mummy) was the front seat passenger, whilst due to our constant playful bickering Lee and I were christened the children, a slightly incetious family but there you go!!!
After an unfortunate lack of communication over whether the sauce jar was open and a subsequent unfortunate red stain on the floor we watched a film and went to sleep.

Matt's Little Accident
Saturday we headed off to Thorpe park and crafterly managed to get 5 of us in for the price of 1, SCORE! A brilliant day, which can't be done justice in a blog. To end the day we bought, built and cooked on a BBQ, before freaking ourselves out with ghost stories.
I'm not short, and Lee's not a chav...Really...
Just a lil bit wet after the adeptly named 'Tidal Wave'
Yayness for group shot
Sunday, a trip out for lunch in Windsor and then a tour of Royal Holloway, before heading back home. A perfect weekend.
It's Waffle time, lol...
A 'waffle' is a light batter cake and a 'potato waffle' is a British savoury made from, yes you guessed it, reconstituted potato.
International Waffle Day is celebrated annually, on the 25th of March.
After staying out of Mum's way until she left for work, (for fear that she would leave me another 20 million tasks to do during the day) I emerged from my safe haven and ventured forth into town where I encountered a somewhat eccentric 70 year old American. Said man proceeded to inform me exactly how amazing this bag of ice cubes he was buying was and how I really should get some. Apparently if you put them in your fridge they stay frozen and will miraculously kill all bacteria in any water you put them in, as all British water is totally undrinkable when it hasn't been purified, obviously. Lol.
You know life has become particularly dull, when you find chasing a random chicken around the garden and trying to reunite it with its owner is fun. (Personally I think we should have just eaten it and I'm fairly sure the cat agrees with me!) Pictures possibly to follow... Reminds me of pet rescue in the good old days, lol.
Sorry, mini rant over. :D
How is it possible that I've run sooo drastically out of time... SOOO depressed. :-(
My exciting day today:
F,F+E exam paper
UC paper
Trip into town for bread (exercise is meant to be good for you guys)
Neighbours, lunch
24 (couldn't resist)
Another F,F+E and UC paper
Which brings us to now...
perhaps I shall shortly do some chemistry, but i consider it to be unlikely...
Finally I leave you with the final fulfilling information on my life, which is that we had a water meter fitted today. The information pack it came with had a game in it called 'The Water family'...humm, game or chem, i wonder which will really happen...laters.
Me: So who were we playing?
Him: Brazil
Me: Oh, was it a Euro qualifier?!!!
Please feel free to point and laugh...
I'm afraid that it is my sad duty to inform you all that after a short period of suffering in which he lost much weight my beloved birthday balloon sadly faded away earlier today due to internal bleeding. You mustn't be too sad however for he made it to the ripe old age of 3 months and 1 day old!
